THE CCAT CONCEPT

At the College of Creative Arts & Technology we strive for excellence in arts education. By nurturing the creativity of our students, and combining this creativity with access to state-of-the-art technology, students at CCAT collaborate across disciplines to experience a real world environment of a creative arts hub all within the one facility. In addition to the technology, students from all streams work together on collaborative projects that give them invaluable experience in networking and communication. These team projects help develop a solid portfolio of work to help establish exciting careers within the industry.

CCAT has a series of intensive industry placement programs, which enable the students to gain first hand experience with industry professionals. With these programs we equip our graduates with the skills not only to survive in the creative arts, but to evolve into the forces that will shape these industries.

Here at CCAT we believe that the classroom is only the beginning of the educational experience and we strive to provide not merely a centre of learning, but an artistic community, where students studying in any area of the creative arts can interact and engage in projects that will foster life long professional relationships.

Upon completion of the student’s time at CCAT, the role of the College continues, to keep the students in touch with other graduates through the exclusive CCAT Alumni program. CCAT graduates are invited back to run workshops, master classes and to undertake further study through a variety of short courses aimed at updating the skills of the CCAT graduate.

At CCAT, we are aware that our most valuable assets are our students. In order for us to succeed, they must!

Alone We Struggle, But Together We Achieve!

THE CCAT ADVANTAGE

CCAT courses are designed and delivered by industry professionals with regular interaction between the College academic staff and representatives from the related industries.

Preparing students for a successful career in their industry is paramount to the success of the institution. We believe that the best way to prepare these students is to obtain input from the people who are already ‘out there’ making their mark in the creative industries.

We do not believe that a young creative industry entrant will succeed solely on academic marks, but as a result of honed creative practice and guided rehearsal of their talents in real production and performance environments. This thorough blending of craft with knowledge gives our students the best possible chance to succeed in their chosen field.

A movie or song does not become a runaway success on neatly laid out staves and script alone, but on heart and experience. This, they will find at CCAT.

CCAT offers students the opportunity to interact with industry leaders, to network and develop projects that can help establish themselves in the industry.

CCAT is more than just an organisation that runs courses.

CCAT is a creative arts community.

THE CCAT FACILITIES

The college is equipped with it’s own auditorium, featuring a large concert PA system, and an impressive lighting grid including a motorised projection screen and HD projector.

This performance space is a major feature of the CCAT programs as not only do the students studying drama, music and dance use this space to do regular performances, but the auditorium also gives students studying technical production valuable experience in live sound reinforcement, television and live recording.

The space also doubles as a picture theatre, which enables students studying film and digital animation and audio to experience their films in a cinema environment.
