ARTS MANAGEMENT
The entertainment and music industry has undergone numerous changes over the last 10 years to the point of where it is almost non recognisable.
Changes in technology, and in particular the introduction of the internet, has meant that the ability to market and sell music and entertainment, has been removed from the domain of the major corporations and placed back into the hands of the musicians and the managers.
This is not saying that it is easier now to succeed in the industry, much to the contrary. In this new world we live in we must be equipped with the latest information and marketing techniques and business strategies enabling us to keep up with these changes.
The CCAT Arts Management programs equip students with the skills to enter such areas of the industry as artist and band management, event management marketing and promotion, publishing and project management.
These courses are cutting edge business courses with a real life focus on the entertainment industry of today. The skills acquired during the course can however be applied to the successful running of any business.
The Arts Management students work closely with students in the other course streams on numerous projects developing both their networking skills and their folio of work.
In addition to the networking opportunities open to the students as part of their course work at CCAT and the exciting projects that are undertaken on campus, there are also numerous industry placement programs available to CCAT students at all levels of the course. |
