DIGITAL ANIMATION AND VISUAL EFFECTS - MULTIMEDIA

The College of Creative Arts & Technology course in Digital Animation and Visual Effects / Multimedia equips students with the skills and effective problem solving abilities required to create stunning animation and effects for the film industry, broadcast television series, computer games and the internet.

This course provides an insight into all aspects of the animation industry and the multitudinous avenues of revenue that these skill sets open up for the student in related industries.

Animation is all-pervasive in our society. From architectural visualisation in the building industries and government, to digital set creation, 3D creature design for live action film and TV, the burgeoning games industry, children’s’ television content creation, TV commercials, medical and scientific visualisation and lucrative internet content creation, the CCAT graduate can contribute to almost every form of visual media devised by modern society. CCAT courses focus on employment outcomes for these fields and many more.

At CCAT, we have the industry production experience, technical knowledge, facilities and equipment to enable the students to work creatively, producing highly sophisticated broadcast quality animated projects that have application across more industries than you might first imagine. Our learning process ensures students have the knowledge and skills to work through both prescribed projects without compromising their own creative expression. Students will gain skills in 3D animation, 2D Flash animation, website creation, visual effects compositing using After Effects and video editing software, game creation and graphic design using industry recognised professional software and techniques.

The Digital Animation and Visual Effects students work closely with CCAT’s Film and Television Production, Graphic Design, Drama, Dance, Audio Engineering, Graphic Design and Music Performance students to create various combination projects to add to their portfolio and gain valuable experience in working cooperatively with ‘creatives’ from related fields of the entertainment industry and liaising with clients.

This production-oriented course is at the cutting edge of entertainment technology and is ideal for those who wish to begin a career within the dynamic and expanding digital animation and visual effects industry. At completion of the course, students are comfortably prepared to embrace a career within the ever-expanding world of digital animation and visual effects production.
